Icicles on the outside of the Chinese resturant. |
Mom, Dad, and I went to their new favorite Chinese Resturant near U-city. . |
Another example of snow-related problems you cannot foresee. This gentleman is struggling to pull a grocery cart to his car thru ice and snow. Not an easy job!!! |
This is the only picture I got of a person waiting for the bus on top of the snow. This is a small pile. I saw several people standing on snow piles 5 feet high!!! I am NOT exaggerating. |
As I've already mentioned, there are no sidewalks with this much snow. People have to walk in the street. This is a brave soul, though he has no choice. On this day, actually, the news reported a person was hit by a semi. And there were also three roof collapses in major businesses. I actually passed several sets of emergency equipment (fire and police) at different homes. |
Picture of downtown Spokane from the Maple Street Bridge. Unfortunately, was unable to stop and get a shot over the fence. |
Notice the vehicle that hasn't been moved in a few days. |
I call this a yard moat. Every house had a moat dug right up to the front door. (Click on picture for large view) |
It requires so much shoveling that parking spots are at a premium. I can't imagine how upset someone would get if you took their parking place. Fortunately, I had Dad's 4-wheel drive Nissan. So, I parked in the snow. |
Here's Rod (one of my college roomates) and his personal yard moat. He had just had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago, too. |

The Holman family (from left to right): Ethan, James, Rod, and Lisa. Don't remember which cat this is. |
