December 26 (Fri) - Snow, snow, snow |
|
|
Again it started to snow and snow and snow - all morning and afternoon. Official snow fall was 10 inches. Someone on the south hill of Spokane said it was closer to 17 inches. Here in Otis Orchards, the flakes were HUGE! By 3 p.m. it looked as if there had never even been a melt. |
The birds found it hard to move around, too. I found it humorous that the quail would line up in the snow blower path. It's a bit hard to see, but at the upper right end of the path are about 50 birds eating seed from a bird seed block. |
Around 2:15 p.m. the snow stopped and the wind started to blow very hard. The temperature rose and again the snow began to melt. Notice the icicles in the middle of this picture. As we were talking Dad watched as the strong wind quick froze the water. |
These black clouds began to worry us that a bad storm was brewing. Surprisingly enough, only more melting and strong winds followed. |
