Let the People of Our God Clap Their Hands

Fast organ piece with a slight latin beat. The choir will enjoy singing it and the organist will feel like their feet are dancing! I've performed this with a 10 voice choir and with a 50 voice choir. It worked well both times.

SATB choir with organ. Medium difficulty only due to the end of the verses ("wonderful deeds God has done for me...").

Composer Notes:

This is an important piece for me in that I wrote it just before my first cantata. There are numerous transitional and instrumental techniques that foresee "Praise and Revelation".

Performance notes:
The clapping is essential. Find at least a small contingent to do the clapping.
During the slow section, I originally wrote that the should be fewer breathes, but with a small choir, take the breathes.
