Day 19 - July 30 - Day with Foreigners

Back to Index of All Days

Back to friends and family here.

One of the kittens.

Kira (mom) wanted to move her kittens to Jocelyn's room, which is where she normally sleeps. But Maria Elsa didn't want her to move them to the other room, so she kept the door closed. Kira would carry a kitten to the door, meow loudly, and then bring the baby back. This happened over and over and over. Kira was not happy.

Two more students are coming today, so I helped.

Maria Elsa wanted me to transfer two light bulbs from the living room to the bathroom. Nice to have someone tall. This one is separated because a plastic piece has broken.

Never fixed a bulb before.

When the new girls came (Imelda on the left and Sandy on the right) I invited them to go with me to meet the Brits. The first day in a foreign place is always hard. I figure they could use a tour and help getting their bearings. I don't remember the gentleman's name at the right.

The street of the arc was turned into a pedestrian street for the weekend.

I took them to Casa Escobar for Jamaica.
Only Imelda didn't like it.

A soccer game near the Mercado. Duncan said the soccer was not very good and that he could be the star of this game if he played.

After the Mercado I had to retrieve my clothes for the last time. I was impressed to find her study a history book. She is trying to go back to university and is studying during her spare time. Very impressive. I hope that if I come back to Antigua she is not here, but in school, instead.

When I got back to the house Maria I found out that Maria Elsa needed a couple of things from the Mercado: fruit and cat food (Kira is very hungry). I had thought of checking with Maria Elsa when I was at the Mercado but didn't. She usually goes to the Mercado on Sat, but they had family business. So, once again, the mule takes care of it.
