PreAP Due Tues 2/5

1) Complete the lab graph.

Remember that you are trying to calculate k in N/m. You were handing masses on the spring, which is in kg (or g) NOT Newtons. You should know how to get from kg to N. Also, you probably measured length in cm not meters. Convert them.

The spring may be linear only for some range of force. You may disregard the extremes of the graph if they are found to be nonlinear.

For calculating slope DO NOT choose data points. Chose points that are far from each other (be sure to circle them). If the graph never hits an actual crosshair on the graph paper, you will have to estimate. You can estimate one decimal place beyond the labelled numbers on your graph (if the number of the graph are 1, 2, 3, you can estimate to 1.1 or 1.3, etc.)

2) Do these two homeworks: 2008 Harmonic Motion 1; Harmonic Motion 2.
