Due Monday 4/9

We are going to do this lab on Monday. To help us understand it better, do the top half of the labsheet with these values:
Voltage: 9V; R1 = 10 ohms, R2 = 20 ohms, R3 = 40 ohms; R4 = 5 ohms.

You will have to do the same in the lab, but with 4 resistors I will give you on Monday.

Questions:

1) What is the total resistance of two 30 ohm resistors in series? In parallel?

2) What is the total resistance of three 30 ohm resistors in series? In parallel?

3) Use the above to help you answer Q32 on p.756.

4) In the book, ch 20: Q 22 and 35.

(This next question is to make you think thru the possible ways the different equations can be mixed and matched. If you can put the different equations together and see how they connect, the test is quite easy.)
5) If a 9 volt battery has 2 amps running thru it, how much energy does it give in 10 seconds?

6) What units do we use for: charge; voltage; resistance; current; potential difference; power; energy; time;

Remember: quiz on Monday.
