Ionic Notation and Ionic Compounds |
These lessons will help you understand ionic notation and ionic compounds. You will need your periodic table. Ionic Compound Balancer (Applet) - Only one I know of on the web. Make sure you can do this. It's on the TAKS test! (If you don't understand what's going on, start working the exercises on the left.) |

(For background information please see: Ions and Ionic Notation.) Prelesson: Ions (MC) - You MUST know this information to understand ions. Ionic Notation (M) - There is an easy trick to this one - see if you can figure it out. More Ionic Notation (M) - If you can do this one, you can probably write balanced ionic compound formulas Ionic Charges (M) - Practice finding the charges of ions from the number of protons and electrons. Net Charge (M) - Understand how adding of ions equal a net charge for the molecule. Net Charge 2 (MC) - Very important. This will help you a lot. Writing Ionic Compounds |
