Hints for Two Dimensional 8 -

#2 - The bird is flying 1m/s to begin with. The bird has an acceleration of 0.5 m/s2. The bird flies for 5 sec. You are looking for the distance the bird flies. All of these quantities are for the bird - along the hypotenuse. Once you have the length ("how far") for the hypotenuse, you can find the horizontal (fox) and the vertical (up in the tree) components. Teacher notes have examples. Here's one.

#5 - On the projectile motion worksheet we did in class, you have an example of an object that starts horizontally (C to E). Fill in what you know in the y-direction and find time. Use this time in the x direction to find how far away it lands. Here's an example of a projectile shot horizontally here.
