PreAP Due 10/19/07

1) Finish your graphs and calculation of muzzle velocity from range. (You should know how to do that, now.)

2) Do the "Projectile Motion Comparisons" sheet. Study it, well, my young Padawan. These concepts will be very important for the test.

3) Like we started in class - derive an equation for the range of a projectile launched from an elevated position with variables only. (Fight with it!)

4) Do this problem: "A Projectile is launched from a 15 m tall cliff going 65 m/s at an angle of 54 degrees."
A. Find its range.
B. Find its apex's altitude. (When it hits its highest point, how high above the ground is it [not how high from its launch point]?)
C. Find delta x for the apex (horizontally, how far away from its launch point is the highest point).
D. Since you have range, find the velocity vector of the object when x = 3/4 of the total range. (You'll need Vy and Vx at that point, then find hypotenuse and angle.)

5) Have a drink (like a Coke [oops, sorry, Dr. Hollingsworth, make it a Pepsi]) and relax. A projectile Jedi Master, now you are.

And, you should know by now, come get help if you don't understand.
