Due Monday, Oct 15
1) Do UTA Homework #9
Hints: You will have to look at these quite a bit to figure out all you need
to know to solve.
Remember:
1) The time it takes to go from ground to ground is twice the time from the ground to the top or top to the ground.
2) Use the form I gave you for projectiles: find components at the top; y-direction below on the left; x-direction below on the right. Fill in what you can from the problem, then trace back what you can. There will ALWAYS be enough to solve.
3) On #5, it is written poorly. Don't out think the problem. They are just asking you for the vertical component of the projectile: initial Vy.
4) On #15, each "x" mark represents a certain amount of time (given in the first paragraph). Notice that the y-axis is vertical distance and x-axis is horizontal distance. If you know how far it goes in a certain amount of time, can't you calculate velocity?
5) Remember that time of flight depends ONLY on the y-direction.
