Due 9/4

1. Graph the second 2 sets of data that you were given.

2. Do the calculations from the lab.

3. Go to the Study Helps on my website (unders Physics Study Helps/ Measuring) and learn the rules for Sig Figs. including Math and Sig Figs.
I know you have done Sig Figs before, but let's be sure you are doing them correctly (and the way Mr. Parsons wants them done).

(The following will help our class get ahead a bit.)
3. Due Homework 2 on the UTA Homework site. You will need to read your book to know the difference between displacement and distance.

4. Learn what these variables stand for (and their units): x, v, a, t.

5. This next step will help you a lot, but will take a bit of explaining.

You need to figure out the shapes of the following functions.

A. y = x

B. y = x2

C. y = 1/x

To do this pick numbers for x, then put them into the equation, which gives you the values of y. (It will probably help to make a table.) The numbers don't have to be fancy. If I were doing this (hint, hint) I would choose x = 1, x = 2, x = 3, etc. then find what y equals for each x, then graph the shapes. Also, the graphs don't have to be fancy, either. Just roughly graph out what they look like.

I expect you to be able to figure this out and tell me what the three shapes are.
