Trigonometry and Vectors

Applets (Internet Labs) -

Drawing Resultants

Boat on a River - Relative Motion - demonstrates the actual application of adding vectors. The velocity vector of the river is added to the velocity vector of the boat.

Frames of Reference - click on differerent parts of the picture and that part stops moving and everything else moves in reference to it.

APC Physics

Dot and Cross Products

Sin, Cos, and Tan (MC) - learn how to use them; you should do this exercise until it is very easy.

Trig Vocab (M)

Vector Basics (MC) - learn about direction, negative vectors and components.

Graphically Adding Vectors (MC) - learn to draw resultants.

Learning Vector Directions (MC) - an easy way to learn how to set up vector directions.

Vector Directions (MC) - same as above, but you have to figure out the angles.

Is Sin or Cosine Positive or Negative? (MC) - learn the implications for the directions above.

Finding Components (MC) - step by step

Finding Components 2 (MC) - step by step

Calculating Components (MC) - not step by step. Be sure you know how to do this before you attempt to add vectors.
