I Will Fly to the Lord

Choirs love this anthem. And the tenors are so excited that the big solo at the end is for them!

We can all relate to the text, which is about the times we feel unworthy and in need of God's unconditional acceptance and love.

SATB choir, piano, and tenor section solo! Easy to Medium only because of the rhythm (which is syncopated, but easy to learn thru listening).

About the recordings.

Composer Notes: I wrote the chorus about three years before I found the inspiration to finish it. During a backpacking trip near Silverton, Colorado, a friend and I were camped beneath a waterfall. When I woke up the next morning, God decided the time was right to finish.

Compositionally, it is easy to see one of my traits in this anthem. I love both harmony and melody. Often they conflict, which cause some interesting chords, such as the chords on "feel" and "turn" in the verses "when I feel there's no where to turn".
